NEW HOUSING STIMULUS PACKAGE APPROVED BY THE CHAMBER

INCREASED ELIGIBILITY FOR HOUSING ASSISTANCE

  • Rental and Purchase Assistance: More households can now benefit from housing assistance. Public investments for the creation of affordable housing are being reinforced. Temporary fiscal measures for 2024 are being implemented, including homeownership grants and interest subsidies.

INITIATIVES FOR COLLABORATION IN THE HOUSING SECTOR

The government plans discussions to strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors, simplify administration, and mobilize land to create affordable housing. Results will be communicated in June.

SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES AND HOMEBUYERS

  • Increased Income Thresholds: The income thresholds for housing assistance have been adjusted, rising by 6% for singles and 8% to 25% for households with children.
  • Rent Subsidy: Increased to 80 euros per dependent child.
  • Homeownership Grants: 59% of households are now eligible.
  • Interest Subsidy: The maximum rate has been raised to 3.5%, reducing the interest burden for new and existing loans.
  • State Guarantee: Improved conditions for obtaining a state guarantee for real estate loans.

FISCAL MEASURES AND INVESTMENTS

  • Massive Investments: 1.45 billion euros will be invested in the creation of affordable housing between 2024 and 2027.
  • VEFA Program: Extended and reinforced to increase the public affordable housing stock with an additional budget of 480 million euros.
